I’ve been wanting to check out the Crepe Cellar for quite some time and today was the day. I’d heard nothing but good things about this place and the concept sounded kind of cool. Although I was having a little trouble picturing how they’d pull off this novel idea I was definitely interested. I was even more interested after I took a moment to check out their menu online. There were loads of things that made my mouth water instantly.

The Crepe Cellar is located in the NoDa area of town, caddy corner from Cabo Fish Taco. It’s not particularly large but does occupy a cool old building that has a lot of character. Today we arrived for lunch a little on the early side and there were too many people there yet. As we dined it began filling up. I hear it’s slammed at night and especially weekend nights.

Service was good and the staff very friendly. We were promptly greeted and seated and orders placed quickly. They were also very helpful in answering our questions. While there were loads of things I wanted to try here I felt like I had to get a crepe. I mean, that’s their thing right. The Ham and Cheese was mentioned as a popular choice so I went with that. I had to have the Buffalo Oysters so I ordered one of those for the table. They were pretty good. Not “blow you away” good but a solid performer. I ordered fries with my Crepe which seems odd but they were really good quality fries. The Crepe was good too. It didn’t blow me away either but it was really quite tasty. The maple dijon glaze is what really made it work. Everything was really good but I feel like I just haven’t found my special dish yet. I fully intend on going back soon and frequently. I can’t wait to try the Oyster Po Boy, the Steak and Guinness Pie, Fish and Chips, dessert Crepes, etc…

This really is a place worth visiting. It’s unique, funky, tasty and most excellent.
