Barrington’s

This is it! This is the one. The perfect restaurant. Barrington’s is absolutely incredible and flawless. Over the course of the last few months visiting restaurant after restaurant I’ve come across some winners and some losers but I’m amazed that this one is perfection.
It’s a small little restaurant just off Fairview near Carmel. You may have walked past it several times and never noticed it was there even. It’s almost hidden and the entrance is less than obvious. Once inside there’s a short bar and a smallish dining area. If you plan on going be sure and make reservations. The atmosphere is dimly lit and very romantic and quite classy. The tables are fairly close together but not too much so.
The menu is brief and changes seasonally I believe. As small as the menu is there’s plenty to choose from. I had the mixed green salad, flounder with lobster risotto and creme brulee for dessert. Before even getting the salad we started with some excellent bread, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and some whole roasted garlic cloves. The salad was incredible with a good mix of greens along with some killer blue cheese chunks and a few french fries underneath. The flounder and lobster risotto was unbelievable. The flounder itself was perfectly prepared and the risotto really made it all work well. I love creme brulee but this one was a real treat being that it was such an unique flavor – honey lavender. It’s hard to describe how good this meal really was. The whole package really knocked it out of the park. The awesomely designed meals, incredibly prepared and the attentive service.
This truly is the best restaurant that I’ve ever visited and it’s not the most expensive either. It’s certainly not inexpensive but it’s extremely reasonable given the quality of the food. If you were to stick to a main entree it would be very reasonable. With a salad and dessert it does tend to add up a bit though. Shuffle on over as soon as you can. I think you’ll find it to be quite the treat.
